Centrally located in Ann Arbor, very near the University of Michigan's central campus, Behavioral Data Services is a private company that provides survey research and data processing services to the business and academic communities. The founding staff came out of the University of Michigan's Organizational Behavior Program.
In business since 1985, BDS began by serving clients from educational settings—mainly doctoral students and professors. Over the years some clients left the Ann Arbor area for other locales across the United States while retaining the services of BDS. Today, a growing portion of the business is taking place overseas.
Among the array of clients are management consultants, researchers, and other professionals who measure workplace attitudes and behaviors. BDS works with anyone in need of assistance with survey research design or any facet of information processing. Survey data are analyzed, summarized, and packaged into reports by using networked PC's and popular database management, word processing, and graphics software.
